He discuss that the Power Sector has been getting 18-20% of the total Public Sector outlay in initial plan periods. Remarkable growth and progress have led to extensive use of electricity in all the sectors of economy in the successive five years plans. Developing a strategy for growth of electricity generation based on a careful examination of all issues related to sustainability particularly abundance of available energy resources, diversity of sources of energy supply and technologies, security of supplies and self-sufficiency.
It is observed that in order to limit cumulative energy import during the next 50 years to about 30%, the nuclear contribution towards electricity generation has to increase from the present 3% to about a quarter of the total. For the nuclear power to play this role, the programme of the Department of Atomic Energy to augment nuclear installed capacity to 20 GWe by 2020 based on a mix of Pressurized Heavy Water Reactors (PHWRs), Light Water Reactors (LWRs) and Fast Breeder Reactors (FBRs) should be completed and the R&D necessary to set up U–Pu metal-based FBRs of short doubling time and associated fuel reprocessing technologies should also be completed in the next 15 years
He also discuss about future aspects of smart grid and electrical embedded system. He asked the participants to actively involve themselves in research activities related to fields of Power System, Stability Analysis, as these are the latest fields of research activities in the field of Electrical Engineering.
The inaugural session was followed by Our guest of honor Prof R.A. Gupta. He enlighten us with his knowledge in the power system, Power electronic, semiconductor devices and various application in this field.
Keynote Speaker and guest of honor prof (Dr.) Sudhir Calla discussed about the super critical conditions generated in transmission and distribution and different ways to overcome such situations and practical significance and the super critical condition and critical condition.
Key note speaker Dr. Rohit bhakar, Assistant Professor in MNIT Jaipur shared his knowledge related to regulation in power system. He defined basic concept related to regulation and it`s requirement in power sector.
Prof. (Dr.) K.R. Niyazi, HOD Department of Electrical Engineering, MNIT give the Keynote on topic “Power system operation and control”. He mentioned about developments that took place in the field of Electrical in last three decades and current areas of research. He discuss current problem of power sector defining the most important cause of the problems being faced in the power sector is the irrational and unremunerative tariff structure. Although the tariff is fixed and realized by SEBs, the State Governments have constantly interfered in tariff setting without subsidizing SEBs for the losses arising out of State.
Governments desire to provide power at concessional rates to certain sectors, especially agriculture. Power Supply to agriculture and domestic consumers is heavily subsidized. Only a part of this subsidy is recovered by SEBs through cross subsidization of tariff from commercial and industrial consumers. The SEBs, in the process, have been incurring heavy losses. If the SEBs were to continue to operate on the same lines, their internal resources generation during the next ten years will be negative, being of the order of Rs.(-) 77,000 crore. This raises serious doubts about the ability of the States to contribute their share to capacity addition during the Ninth Plan and thereafter. This highlights the importance of initiating power sector reforms at the earliest and the need for tariff rationalization.
Ampere Exhibition was also scheduled on 21st march 2013 , which consist of two parts
- Flex Presentation
- Hand making Charts
There were total 31 group who whole heartedly participated in this exhibition.
There were three technical session. The first technical sessions were planned on Day 1(21st march 2013) were devoted to papers performance of power systems and it`s applications in various fields. The next two sessions were planned on Day 2 (22nd March 2013) & devoted to transmission and distribution, renewable energy sources and other miscellaneous topic related to power sector field.
In our conference total 100+ papers were received, out of which 64 abstract were selected for souvenir. And total 52 papers were presented.

Session-I
Dr. S.C. Kulhari professor from Manipal university Jaipur delivered the talk on “Cloud Computing Cluster Computing”. He explained about Grid, Cloud and cluster computing. Grid computing is a processor architecture that combines computer resources from various domains to reach a main objective. In grid computing, the computers on the network can work on a task together, thus functioning as a supercomputer. Cloud computing is the practice of using a network of remote servers hosted on the Internet to store, manage, and process data, rather than a local server or a personal computer. Computer cluster consists of a set of loosely or tightly connected computers that work together so that, in many respects, they can be viewed as a single system. Unlike grid computers, computer clusters have each node set to perform the same task, controlled and scheduled by software.
Types of Clusters
- Dedicated Cluster
- Non dedicated Cluster
Design Issues
- Failure Management
- Parallel Balancing
Pros & Cons of Cluster Computing
- High availability & resilient
- Administrative Complexity
- High cost of ownership
They summarized it with the scenario of their future use.

After that Dr. Trilok Mathur, Associate Professor, BITS, Pilani gave a very interesting presentation about Fractional Calculus it was quite an out of the box topic. The topic included the importance of fractional calculus and its applications. After lunch, the next session was started with the talk of Mr. H.C. Taneja, Professor, DU, Delhi whose topic was ‘Residual and Past Life Time Distribution: An Information Theoretic measure approach.’ He talked about the reliability of a system in specific time intervals. It was an interesting discussion about mathematics and how computers are used to help shape what is on paper to a reality. The session was chaired by Dr. Rajiv Kumar, Associate Professor in dept of mathematics M.D. University, Rohtak .Student’s from other colleges also participated and presented papers in conference.
The second day of conference was also quite enriching. It started with Dr. Shilpi Saxena, Head of Mathematics Department, Poornima University. Who gave a wonderful presentation about Geometry and it’s application. A wealth of cloud computing presentations were also presented by college students. They emphasized the importance of cloud computing it’s big importance in today’s life and rapid integration in our day to day lives. This session was chaired by Dr. Kantesh Gupta, Professor in Department of Mathematics, MNIT, Jaipur.
