Civil Engineering

About the Department:

Bachelor of Technology – Civil Engineering is the oldest engineering discipline that deals with the planning, design, construction, and maintenance of the works like bridges, rails, roads and airfields, irrigation canals, dams, water supply and sewerage projects, ports and harbors, power plants, modern townships, and buildings, etc. The course curriculum is planned to train the students with the basic knowledge of each and every field of Civil Engineering which enables them to accept the challenges in all kinds of field and design work. The course work includes classroom lectures by well-qualified and experienced faculties, testing in well-equipped laboratories, research-oriented seminars and project work, industrial visits and summer internships. The students get exposure to meet the modern industry requirement. The institute has MOU with various renowned industrial groups for internship and placement of students.

Career Prospects:

India is a fast growing economy lacking in infrastructure indeed and there is a huge demand of skilled, qualified and professional civil engineers.
Civil Engineers can be placed in various public and private sector industrial corporations and consultancy, design and research works as well with attractive packages. The passing out candidates can get the instant job of his interest to meet out the industrial demand.

List of companies from different industrial sectors that hire Civil Engineering students from the institute: L&T, Sobha developers Ltd, Maytas Infra Ltd, Shapoorji Pallonji, Shimizu Corp, Jones Lang LaSalle, Jacobs Engineering, Alacriti Infosystems, TATA Consulting Engineers Ltd, Land Transport Authority, Schlumberger, Power Grid Corporation of India Ltd, Atkins, ICRA etc.

There is a facility for higher studies as well after the completion of B.Tech. Course. Students can pursue their Master’s degree i.e. Master of Technology (M.Tech) in various specializations.
